Poignant and Funny
I saw this movie in Tribeca at a screening earlier in the year and thought it was amazing. Great writing, very strong cast. It's a small-town coming of age story centered around an adolescent, rebellious boy growing up without a father, in a small town, surrounded by characters undergoing their own struggles and transformations. Sexuality, life goals and love are the key themes, shown through offbeat comic timing (lots of great one liners) beautiful cinematography and very relate-able characters. It's poignant without being cheesy, and again - very funny. Thumbs up!
Quiet Humanity
The movie's greatest strength lies in its portrayal of endearing moments of tenderness. The best humanity has to offer.
This is done without alot of hooplah but in the small miraculous ways it happens in real life.
Compassion in the midst of pain...
Much more to love about the movie...acting, setting, coming of age...but this is what I will remember for a lifetime.
Great Film!!!
Really worth your time!
Touching and so poetic and funny! It is really worth the time to step into this story. Great idea for a holiday movie, as it is about love and growth and the different ways we find family. Brilliant acting - I will give this movie as a gift to friends.
